11:00 AM Time, Space and Numbers: Leading Practices for Public Sector Managers to Establish Gender Equity

A new report released by UNSW Canberra in collaboration with four state government agencies reveals the importance of public sector middle managers in progressing gender equity. Whether it is recruitment and selection, career development or working flexibly, there are three aspects that can help organisations to implement leading practice - time, space and numbers. In this session, Dr Williamson will explore:

  • Working time flexibility: How to redesign jobs for part-time workers whilst meeting organisational goals
  • Numerical flexibility: Encouraging flexibility by creating project teams and opportunities for employees to overcome restrictions with staffing caps and numbers
  • Spatial flexibility: Resdeigning workspaces to encourage creativity, teamwork and increased productivity
